Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave

Are you aware of the Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave, authorized by the legislature in 2017? Premium collections by employers begin to process January 1, 2019. Employee wages and hours need to be tracked by employers to begin reporting April 1, 2019. Actual employee benefits will be available January 1, 2020. This applies to nearly all employers statewide regardless of size, including out-of-state employers with Washington employees.

Exceptions include:

  • Self employed individuals (may opt in)

  • Federal Employees

  • Federally Recognized Tribes (may opt in)

  • Individuals who temporarily work in WA

Adrienne Trimble is new NMSDC President and CEO


SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (AUGUST 2, 2018) – The Northwest Mountain MSDC welcomes Adrienne Trimble as new President and CEO of the National Minority Supplier Development Council Inc ® (NMSDC®).  The official announcement was made August 1, 2018 by Joe Hinrichs, NMSDC Chairman of the Board of Directors and President, Global Operations of Ford Motor Company.

“With impressive HR and Supplier Diversity background, Adrienne brings the necessary expertise to build a strong and sustainable team around our strategic goals,” said Hinrichs.  “In her new role, Adrienne will drive all aspects of the organization's work, including revamping processes, designing new programming, providing operational oversight, selecting and leading a strong national staff, and working with the Board and affiliates to implement strategy. I look forward to working alongside Adrienne to achieve our mission.”

Congratulations to Sebastian Uprimny for making it to 2018 Winter Olympics

Sebastian Uprimny makes his Winter Olympics debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.  He is the Colombian delegate in the Men's 15 km freestyle cross-country skiing competition.

Born to Colombian parents in Paris, France, Sebastian now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is the Principal and Managing Director of inlingua Utah, a certified Northwest Mountain MSDC MBE offering professional interpretation and translation services.

Sebastian is one of four athletes representing Colombia and will be participating in the opening ceremony on Friday, February 9, 2018.  He is scheduled to compete on Sunday, February 11, 2018. (Please confirm the daily schedule at Olympic Games Website)
