SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (MARCH 9, 2018) – Microsoft Corporation won the National Corporation of the Year Award at the Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC) 2018 Annual Awards Dinner & Silent Auction on Thursday, March 8th.  Enterprise Holdings won Regional Corporation of the Year and Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Tacoma Business Center won Public Agency of the Year.

Every year, the Northwest Mountain MSDC presents Leadership Awards to corporate and public agency members to recognize their supplier diversity excellence in the Northwest Mountain region. The awards criteria is based on information including, but not limited to dollars spent with certified MBE suppliers, outreach to the MBE community, and the firm’s overall supplier diversity strengths and efforts. 

The Northwest Mountain MSDC also presented: Supplier of the Year Awards to Council-certified minority business enterprises (MBEs); and, Advocacy Awards to individual supplier diversity advocates who tirelessly work to support member and MBE growth.

President’s Awards came last.  Fernando Martinez, President and CEO of Northwest Mountain MSDC concluded the awards ceremony with the presentation of four awards.  “The President’s Award is the only Award presented at the discretion of the President,” he said.  “The award is simply based on the premise that we need to recognize individuals, companies, organizations, or entities that selflessly serve our Council Community.  I am very pleased to close out tonight’s Awards Program by recognizing and acknowledging several individuals and one of our corporate members’ efforts over the years.”

The Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC) is a Washington nonprofit established in 1978 to aid in growth and development of minority-owned businesses, serving the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. 2018 Awards Committee Reviews Nominations

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (FEBRUARY 16, 2018) – The 2018 Awards Committee met on Friday, February 16, 2018 to review Leadership and Advocacy Award nominations for the year 2017.

The committee met all day at the Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council offices in Tukwila, Washington reviewing nomination packets.  By using a scoring system following national guidelines for Leadership Awards, winners were decided based on the highest score per category.  The winners will be presented at the 2018 Annual Awards Dinner & Silent Auction on March 8, 2018 at the DoubleTree Southcenter Ballroom.

The Council wishes to thank the 2018 Awards Committee for their valuable support and contributions to the success of the Northwest Mountain MSDC Awards Program.
