Wells Fargo Bank is partnering with the Northwest Mountain Supplier Development Council (MSDC) to host a groundbreaking seminar designed for owners and executives of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) within the $2-20 million bracket. The seminar is aimed at providing industry information and know-how that can propel the MBEs within the bracket to move forward to the next level.
To ensure the success of the three hour seminar, Wells Fargo is bringing their top level executives and group of financial experts, led by Michael J. Serio, Regional Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President, who will speak about the State of the US Economy and the impact that it could have on minority-owned businesses.
Jennifer Lovegren, Treasury Management Consultant and Vice President, Western Washington Market will present useful information on Working Capital Management, following a panel discussion on Banker Relations, Cyber Security, Succession Planning and Risk Management.

Michael J. Serio is the regional chief investment officer for the Mountain Northwest region of Wells Fargo Private Bank. He leads a team of investment professionals who deliver comprehensive, custom, diversified portfolio management for clients of The Private Bank. In his role, Mr. Serio serves as the investment thought leader in the region by providing insight and interpretation of the economy and financial markets at client events and through written commentary.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2013, Mr. Serio co-founded Wolf Creek Energy Partners, which was formed to finance minority interests in the shale oil and gas business. Prior to Wolf Creek Energy partners, he served as managing director for Citigroup Private Bank in Denver where he oversaw the investment process for five private bank offices serving the ultra affluent. He started his career as a portfolio manager for First National Bank of Chicago. He has also worked as a portfolio manager for Sanford Bernstein, JP Morgan, and Stein Roe & Farnham. Mr. Serio has more than 25 years of experience in financial services.
He was an adjunct professor at the University of Denver and DePaul University, and has guest lectured t Stetson University and the University of Colorado. In addition, Mr. Serio taught Chartered Financial analyst (CFA) review courses for Stalla/Becker-Convisor from 1994 to 2003.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from DePaul University. Mr. Serio is a CFA® charter holder and chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA - SM) designee. He previously served as a committee chair and board director for the CFA Society of Chicago and was on the board of the Colorado Council for Economic Education. He currently serves on the board of directors for the HeartLight Center. Mr. Serio is based in Denver, Colorado.

Raymond, a 35-year financial services veteran, previously worked as the Greater Arizona Business Banking area manager. He has also worked as Business Banking manager for Wells Fargo in Tempe.
He joined Wells Fargo in 1993 as a Business Banking manager for the Border Banking Group based in El Paso, Tex. Raymond earned a bachelor's degree in finance from New Mexico State University

Greg Rafuse is a Vice President and Business Development Officer for Wells Fargo Insurance Services. He is responsible for managing relationships within Commercial Banking Services (CBS) in Washington and Alaska. Greg is dedicated to helping CBS Relationship Managers ensure their clients work with the most appropriate segment of Wells Fargo Insurance Services to properly address their risk exposure.
Greg started with Wells Fargo Bank in August, 2008. After working in multiple roles at the bank, most recently Senior Relationship Manager for Commercial Banking Services, Greg made the transition to Business Development Officer for Wells Fargo Insurance Services in April of 2015. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Greg began his finance career in the mortgage business as an Account Manager for Washington Mutual Home Loans, and President and Owner of Paragon Home Finance. Greg earned his A.A.S. in Business from Bellevue College and holds his Washington Insurance License for Property & Casualty.
He is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a supporter of several local nonprofits in the Seattle area. In his free time, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and two sons, Jace and Ty. He is also an avid hiker and rock climber and enjoys all things outdoors.
