Overstreet Appointed to WWU Board

Earl Overstreet has been appointed to the Western Washington University Board of Trustees by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. Overstreet, a longtime supporter of the Northwest Mountain MSDC, is president and owner of Council-certified MBE General Microsystems Inc.

"I am thrilled and honored to be appointed to the Western Washington University Board of Trustees. Education and small diverse business economic development are two of my passions," Overstreet said. The six-year term, he added, offered him "more breadth and depth of involvement in a particular institution than anything I'd ever done before."

General Microsystems Inc., a Bellevue, WA-based company Overstreet founded in 1983, provides IT infrastructure solutions, services, and tools in partnership with EMC, HP, IBM, and Oracle, among others. GMI's notable customers include The Boeing Company, Expeditors International, the City of Seattle, and the State of Washington.

As an innovator, entrepreneur, and advocate for education, Overstreet is dedicated to making sure that young people get the best education that they possibly can. "I have enjoyed working with the Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council and I look forward to this new opportunity at Western," Overstreet said.
