Keynote Speaker - Jerry Fuentes, President at AT&T Inc. Arizona/New Mexico
Jerry Fuentes is employed with AT&T and currently serves as President of AT&T Arizona/New Mexico. In this capacity, Mr. Fuentes leads all legislative, regulatory, and external affairs activities in the two states. In addition, Mr. Fuentes is involved with new technology deployment and infrastructure investment and represents AT&T in civic and community organizations. Mr. Fuentes has worked for AT&T for 33 years and has progressed through a series of positions in the comptroller’s, human resources, information systems, marketing and external affairs organizations. Prior to being named president, Mr. Fuentes, was assistant vice president External Affairs, with responsibility for supporting legislative, governmental, regulatory, and community affairs for AT&T’s western region. He is a past board member of various business, civic and community organizations. He currently serves on the board of the Arizona State Chamber of Commerce, SER National Board of Directors, where he serves as chairman, the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) Partnership Council, the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators Business Council, where he also serves as the BBA council VP of Policy. He also serves on the board of directors of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. In addition, Mr. Fuentes was appointed to the Arizona Technology Council board of directors, the New Mexico Innovate-Educate national board, the New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry board, and is active on the United Way policy committee. Mr. Fuentes is a past board member of the Arizona Commerce Authority and the Governor’s Latino council. Mr. Fuentes received his master’s degree in business administration from our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, where he was a member of the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society. He has received numerous awards including corporate executive of the year, awarded by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He was also selected as a Hispanic Family of the Year finalist. He was also named as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the country by Hispanic Business Magazine and most recently received the Lider honor given by Univision’s 40 under 40 leadership awards. He has two adult children.

Keynote Speaker - Nelson Reyneri, Jr. Vice President, Sales and External Affairs at Liberty Power
Nelson Reyneri directs the sales strategy for Liberty Power, the largest independently owned electricity retailer in the United States, with expected sales of over one billion dollars in 2014. In this role, he leads the development and implementation of the company’s sales strategies for commercial, small business and residential customers. He also oversees External Affairs, which includes Corporate Communications, Marketing and Regulatory Afffairs and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership team. In Decemember, 2013, Liberty Power was named the 2013 Minority Retail Energy Firm of the Year by the United States Department of Commerce. From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Reyneri led Liberty Power’s sales to Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies. In this role, he oversaw the development of the company’s customer prospecting, acquisition, and retention strategies, resulting in sales exceeding over $150 million, while also overseeing the external affairs strategies for Liberty Power. Mr. Reyneri ’s work gained major industy recognition for Liberty Power: the company was chosen as Energy Supplier of the Year by Costco in 2013, Frito-Lay in 2010, and by JC Penney in 2008, and was highlighted in IBM’s 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. Prior to assuming his sales responsibilities, he developed and led the company’s communications strategy and created Liberty Power’s Regulatory Affairs Department. In 2007, Liberty Power was named the fastest growing Hispanic owned company in the nation by Hispanic Magazine. In 2008, Liberty Power was chosen as Diverse Supplier of the Year by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. During this time Mr. Reyneri developed the first of a kind “Small Business Report Card on Electricity Choice in Restructured Markets,” a guide comparing different states’ regulatory structures. Under his leadership, Liberty Power was favorably featured in leading media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Business Week, The Miami Herald, Smart Business, NPR’s ‘Martketplace’ and Univision. Mr. Reyneri also has over two decades of senior leadership experience in the public sector. In the 2004 election cycle, Mr. Reyneri led the Democratic Party’s outreach to the Hispanic community, serving as a Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and as DNC Director of Hispanic Outreach. Prior to joining the DNC, he served as a Senior Advisor to U.S. Senator John Kerry. From 1994 to 2001, he was appointed to senior-level positions in the Clinton Administration, including Chief of Staff at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff to President Clinton, and Director of Regulatory Reform at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In 2003, Mr. Reyneri was chosen as one of the top 100 Most Powerful Latinos by PODER magazine. He currently serves as a Director on the Board of the National Hispanic Medical Association, the National Utilities Diversity Council, and on the Advisory Board of the Kellogg Electricity Market Initiative. Born in Cuba and raised in New York and Miami, Mr. Reyneri holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he was chosen as student commencement speaker. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Psychology and Philosophy and in Political Science from Boston University, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He is married to Kara Kostanich, a television reporter for KOMO-TV, the Seattle ABC affiliate.
