Nelson Reyneri serves as Senior Vice President for Sales and External Affairs for Liberty Power, one of the leading electricity suppliers in the United States.  Liberty Power is the first electricity provider with a national footprint that is also minority owned and one of a handful of Hispanic owned companies with revenues exceeding a billion dollars. 

Nelson has been with Liberty Power for over a decade and has played a leadership role in the company’s growth, leading various departments and initiatives, including sales, business development, corporate communications, Quality Assurance and regulatory affairs.    Liberty Power has served one of five of the Fortune 500 and has been awarded Supplier of the Year by Pepsi, JC Penney and Costco.   In December 2013, Liberty Power was named the 2013 Minority Retail Energy Firm of the Year by the United States Department of Commerce.

Nelson also has extensive leadership experience in the public sector.  He was a senior appointee in the Clinton Administration, including serving as Special Assistant to the President’s Deputy Chief of Staff and later as Chief of Staff himself at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).  He also served as Senior Advisor to Senator John Kerry and led the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) Hispanic Outreach in 2004.  In 2016 he was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a position requiring Senate confirmation.

Nelson holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Boston University, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.  He is married to Kara Kostanich, a television reporter for KOMO-TV, the Seattle ABC affiliate and they are proud loving parents to Wynston Alexander Reyneri.
