Fernando Martinez, President and CEO of Northwest Mountain MSDC was a guest speaker at Bank of America presents to Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership & Advancement (HOLA) Seattle Chapter Hispanic Heritage Celebration. Martinez’s speech focused on the theme “Position Yourselves for Growth and Success.” He expressed the value of groups such as HOLA and their impact on Hispanic and Latino culture and communities. He talked about the lessons that he learned from personal experience and how they translate into courses of action towards success, balance and leadership. He presented an in-depth approach to learning and dealing with change — two very important components in building a leader. Emphasizing how a leader’s own journey impacts the journey of each individual follower, and vice versa, he shared a personal quote from 2010 — “Leadership is the ability to motivate and lead individuals, teams, and organizations through discovery, discussion, and actions they would not have arrived upon their own.”
The event was sponsored by Bank of America and held at El Centro de La Raza in Seattle, Washington on October 6th, 2016.
