The Washington State Department of Transportation is preparing to award the SR 99 Demolition, Decommissioning, and Surface Street Project in early 2018. The work involves demolishing the Alaskan Way Viaduct, decommissioning and sealing the Battery Street Tunnel, and rebuilding three blocks of Aurora Avenue North. Minority, small, veteran and women's business enterprise (MSVWBE) firms are encouraged to meet and network with the four shortlisted proposers for the project.

AT&T Mobility Operations Support Team (MOST) and the AT&T Supplier Diversity team are hosting a webcast information session for suppliers.  Learn about opportunities, qualifications, and requirements and address any questions as we begin the process to negotiate a new Supplier General Agreement for mobility support services in 2018. 

The team is currently seeking suppliers who can perform the following cellular tower services:

HVAC | Electrical | Generator | Landscaping | Fire Suppression | General Maintenance | DAS | Batteries | Tower Repair | Pest Control

 

Supplier Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience or comparable certification
  • Ability to service all standard AT&T OEM Generator Equipment(s) - (Kohler, Generac)
  • Sufficient work force to self-perform
  • Minimum 5-10 crews to be competitive in volume bids
  • Drug screening
  • Provide Service referrals/references

The Northwest Mountain MSDC is the region’s leading organization advocating for supplier diversity – providing access to opportunities and business development to certified minority business enterprises (MBEs) since 1978.  For the past 7 years we have provided executive level educational scholarships, averaging over $20,000 per year.  Scholarships include participation at MBE Executive courses at the University of Washington Foster School of Business as well as Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Through the scholarship fund, the Council provides ethnic MBE certification, customized training, development series, and MBE sponsorship to participate in regional and national conferences.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR MBES (up to $10,000)

Communities Foundation of Texas is offering scholarships (for any Exec Ed Program) for MBEs who quality to attend  https://www.cftexas.org/bank-of-america-small-diverse-scholarships  

  • Business must have an annual sales of between $500,000 and $50,000,000;
  • Business must employ at least three full-time employees;
  • Business owner must have a minimum of three years of experience developing and running their company

The window of opportunity for MBEs to apply for scholarships is from August 4 – Friday October 13th

Candidates have up to one year to use the scholarship. These scholarships are available for many program such as:

One-on-One Business Engagement Sessions

One week prior to Session 3, MBEs will submit their updated Capabilities Statement for Panel Member review.  Session 3 will continue with individual “2 Minute Introductory Communication” presentation in a private setting.  Member Panel will provide group feedback and individual feedback in writing.  Workshop participants registered for the Annual Conference will be able to use their newly developed communications skills in One-on-One Engagement Sessions with Corporate/Public Agency Members.

Registration to the 2017 Annual Conference is required.

  • $175 for Council-certified MBE
